P.S. Yes, indeed, we've registered the Portafilter Podcast on iTunes. Download the new version 4.9 if you haven't yet, and you should be able to subscribe to our podcast on iTunes. If you're not a regular podcast junkie, check out some of the others out there... ours sounds pretty not-so-bad there, eh?

Baristas vs owners? If this comes down to a battle, I think baristas would win. I mean, we got our hands on cool weapons like portafilters, and spatulas and cocoa shakers (to blind the owners with). What kinda weapons do the owners have? Ledgers?

Adam,
ReplyDeleteThe owner's weapon of choice is called a "Pink Slip"
I thought the 'pink slip' was just a legend. How is it wielded? Does an owner paper-cut the barista to death, and is it really a more formidable weapon than a piping-hot portafilter?
ReplyDeletestupid jokes of mine aside, I love my boss and I don't need a seperate forum to hide from him in. But I would seriously kick his ass if we battled.
I love this article.
