Great podcast guys - and I'm stunned about Jay's announcement! I guess that's a testament to Ric's prowess as a candidate...I could never have made Jay rejoin.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, though, In the last year I've had to slice through some of the most intense beauracratic bull&*%$ you could ever have imagined to recover from our financial issues, lead the process of hiring Dawn, and generally get us on track. One of my most vital allies and trusted advisors in this struggle has been Ric. I believe a one-two punch of incoming Presidents (Mark Inman followed by Ric), in combination with the leadership of Dawn Jantsch, will be exactly what the SCAA needs going forward. I hope everyone takes the time to cast a ballot and vote for Ric!

I recommend this book to any and all who are interested in this topic:
Banker to the Poor: Micro-Lending and the Battle Against World Poverty, by Muhammad Yunus.
He is from Bangladesh and won the Nobel prize in '06 for pioneering micro-lending with his Grameen Bank. CoffeeKids runs similar programs.
