I just wanted to congratulate you, Nick and Jay. When your podcasts started, I thought you were doing a tribute to "Wayne's World." But, as time has gone on, your interviews have made a real contribution. In a way, you are helping to "flatten the world," as Thomas L. Friedman talks about in his book. You are using the Internet to put people all over the world in contact with the people who are shaping our industry. Before your podcasts, you had to fly to the SCAA Conference or be a specialty coffee insider to hear a George Howell or Ted Lingle. So, I tip my (Coffee Kids) cap to you!

any chance you could put time markers next to your discussion topics? e.g. i want to listen to 'Dean Cycon is angry about "Fair Trade Certified"' and you list it at x min x sec so i can skip to it.
ReplyDeleteMarshall: I tip right back at ya. You da man, and thanks for the props.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous: iTunes (or whatever you use to listen to the show) lets you skip around. That's good enough. It's a radio show... it's not a porn movie. Pull your pants back up and let things unfold naturally.
yeah i know i can skip around, that's why some note of where things happen would be useful. i'm not saying split it into chapters, just make a note of whereabouts things happen in your "discussion topics" table of contents you type up for the episode.
ReplyDeleteand i'll keep my pants around my ankles thank you.
Ooo - I get a name check!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to meeting you guys in Bern too.
If you want to laugh at my accent I'd be more than happy to be very British down the phone for a podcast sometime....
