With no need for specifics, I'm asking everyone to pray for Jeff Babcock (big cheese at Zoka Coffee) and his wife, Brenda... they need prayer and need it bad. Right now. No, I'm not kidding.
I'm an outsider to this community. I've observed it long enough to know how the Babcocks have influenced so many people and even the industry. We should pray for them. In fact...
May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble;May the name of the God of Jacob defend you; May He send you help from the sanctuary,And strengthen you out of Zion; May He remember all your offerings,And accept your burnt sacrifice. May He grant you according to your heart's desire,And fulfill all your purpose. May the Lord fulfill all your petitions. From Psalm 21
But Nick, this is an odd request for a guy who refers to church now and then, but can be heard on most of these podcasts talking about pornography and consuming alcohol. Do you really believe in prayer? Do you even believe God exsists? If you do, your life should reflect it.
By the way, props on the Podcast. Even though I choose to use the fast forward from time to time. If I ever get the chance to be in DC I look forward to visiting your cafe.
With all due respect to the prior poster, the only thing close to "God" we can come close to defining probably doesn't mind us being as acutely *alive* as a guy like Nick Cho.
Huzzah to Zoka. Best of luck in case it gets better; ultimate temperance in worse cases.
Also, with regards to some of the other comments, I could say a lot more, but all I'm going to say is how about we all leave the judging of others to God. If we're going to offer up advice/judgement it should only be to people who we know and love and whose respect we've actually earned through friendship.
Whatever your method of worship, prayer or form of your diety, we are touched by Nick's request and the thoughts expressed here for the Babcocks. I will get an update for you soon.
